Credit Suisse Head Of Asia Ex-Japan AM Distribution Steps Down

Omar Cordes, the head of Credit Suisse's Asia-Pacific asset management distribution arm, has left the role after six years.

Omar Cordes, the head of Credit Suisse's Asia ex-Japan asset management distribution arm, has left the role after six years.

Hedge fund specialist Cordes left last month after starting at the bank in 2006, when he was hired from UK hedge fund CQS. It is not known why he left or where he is going. A spokeswoman declined to comment further.

His successor, Chris Faddy, joins Switzerland's second largest bank as a managing director and head of asset management distribution to institutions, including family offices, private banks, sovereign wealth funds, and third-party distribution channels, in non-Japan Asia.

He will be based in Singapore and report to Will Britten, Asia-Pacific head of distribution, asset management for Credit Suisse.

He joins from Barclays Capital, where he was Asia head of distribution for the asset management business, covering all market segments in Asia. Prior to that, he was an executive director at Goldman Sachs JB Were, managing key account sales in the asset management business from 2004-2010.

Credit Suisse’s asset management business had SFr403.4 billion ($421 billion) of assets under management at the end of the first quarter of this year.
