Deutsche Names Private Bank Emerging Markets EAM Head

The appointee has worked at UBS and Credit Suisse, among other institutions, with a focus on areas such as intermediaries and EAMs.
Deutsche Bank
has appointed former UBS/Credit Suisse senior figure Hugo van
Kattendijke as head of external managers for the private bank
emerging markets business. The appointment takes effect from 19
August.
Based in Singapore and reporting to Marco Pagliara, who is head
of the private bank’s emerging markets head, van Kattendijke
brings more than 20 years’ experience in financial services and
direct management experience with EAMs. He has worked with
institutional asset managers in Asia Pacific since 2004.
“With his experience and understanding of this important market
segment, Hugo will play an instrumental role in refining our EAM
strategy and sharpening our network of providers,” Pagliara
said.
At UBS/Credit Suisse, van Kattendijke was head of external
asset managers APAC. Before joining Credit Suisse in 2022,
he worked for more than 10 years at UBS; from 2015 to 2018
he was head of asset servicing APAC and from 2018 to 2022 he was
head of financial intermediaries APAC. He joined UBS in 2011 from
Vontobel banking group’s Harcourt Investment Consulting arm,
where he was executive director, head of APAC.
Van Kattendijke holds an MBA from INSEAD, and an MSc in
econometrics from Erasmus University, Rotterdam.
