UK insurer Legal & General is to enable financial advisors who place high net worth protection business to contact senior underwriters directly. High net worth is defined as individual life insurance cover of over £600,000 or critical illness over £350,000. The life office said the initiative has been introduced to reduce potential delays with gathering medical and financial information and get clients on risk more quickly. L&G protection product marketing director Bonnie Burns said: “High net worth individuals tend to be cash rich but time poor, so we aim to have a turnaround time of 30 days from receipt of application. What we are offering is dedicated support from a senior underwriter and proactive case management by the high net worth team.”
