Duet – CI Capital Names Head Of $300 Million Egyptian Business-Focused Fund

The joint-venture between global alternative asset manager Duet Group and Egyptian investment bank CI Capital has hired Amr Helal from Abraaj Group to spearhead its Egypt Opportunities Fund.

Duet – CI Capital has appointed Amr Helal to lead its $300 million Egypt Opportunities Fund.

Helal joins from the Abraaj Group to head up the private equity fund dedicated to investing in Egyptian businesses. He will work alongside managing director Seifallah Zoghbi.

The Egypt Opportunities Fund allows international capital to participate alongside domestic capital to invest in businesses, helping them to grow through mentorship, operational and strategic support.

Our commitment to Egypt is underscored by the launch of the Egypt Opportunities Fund and now by Amr’s appointment,” said CI Capital's chief executive and vice chairman, Mahmoud Attalla.

“Amr brings a proven track record of investing and operating in Egypt and the region, as well as 15 years of experience in private equity and financial services,” said Henry Gabay, chief executive of London-headquartered Duet Group.
