San Francisco’s First Republic Bank has brought in Samir Kaji and John Cummings for its Sand Hill Road office in Menlo Park, CA, and downtown Los Angeles office respectively.

Kaji, who has 13 years of banking experience, works with venture capital and private equity clients in Silicon Valley. He previously worked at Silicon Valley Bank.

Cummings, with over 25 years of financial services experience, has expertise in commercial lending. Prior to joining First Republic, he was a senior vice president and commercial banking officer at California Bank & Trust.

In June, First Republic established a new office in downtown LA, transferring its existing LA operations on West 7th Street to 888 South Figueroa Street. The previous month it also launched an office in Wellesley, MA, as it continues to expand its presence in Boston.

In Silicon Valley, the firm works with the partners and principals of private equity and venture companies firms, as well as public and private employees of Silicon-based companies.
