First Republic Bank has named Dale Smith as a managing director at its San Diego office.

Smith brings 10 years of financial services experience to the role and is charged with helping grow the firm's banking, investment management, trust, brokerage, and real estate lending serivces. Prior to First Republic, he was with Wells Fargo Private Mortgage Bank as vice president and branch manager in San Diego. 

The appointment is the latest in a series of hires in the US by the private bank over the past months. Just last week, First Republic brought in David Siebenlist from Bank of America for San Francisco and Marin counties. In June, Linnea McArt stepped in as managing director for Los Angeles, Basant Kedia as senior relationship manager for Palo Alto, and Betsy Sullivan for Boston.

As of 30 June 2011, the bank records 57 preferred banking offices across the country and $23.8 billion in total bank assets, $19.6 billion of which come from its wealth management business.
