First Trust Lists 21 ETFs On Mexican Stock Exchange

First Trust Advisors is cross-listing 21 of its exchange traded funds on the Mexican Stock Exchange, the Bolsa Mexicana de Valores (BMV).

The funds will be listed on the BMV in pesos and trades can be initiated through a local broker-dealer. JP Morgan’s Depositary Receipts business will service the ETFs and handle all corporate actions in the Mexican market. A JP Morgan representative based in Mexico City will provide local guidance to investors.

The peso-dominated, cross-listed ETFs include funds focused on natural gas, emerging markets, financials, technology companies, and small-, mid- and large-cap companies, as well as offering value and growth strategies.

“We feel confident that there will continue to be an increased demand from both providers and investors for peso-dominated ETFs,” said Joseph Dooley, DR executive for the Americas at JP Morgan.

First Trust Advisors, along with its affiliate First Trust Portfolios, has collective assets under management or supervision of approximately $51 billion as of 31 July 2011, through unit investment trusts, exchange-traded funds, closed-end funds, mutual funds and separate managed accounts.
