Foundation Source, which provides support services to private foundations, has appointed former Wells Fargo senior executive John Libby as regional managing director on the business development team.

Libby will be based in Chicago and focus his efforts on the upper Midwest, assuming primary responsibility for Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Michigan, Minnesota, Ohio and Wisconsin.

He is charged with advancing Foundation Source “in the market directly to donors and indirectly through the advisor channel,” the firm says.

Libby joins the firm from Wells Fargo’s philanthropic services division, where he formerly worked with Foundation Source chief executive H King McGlaughon. There he was a senior vice president and regional director. He worked at Wachovia Bank before that as a senior vice president and managing director, specializing in philanthropy and trusts.

The latest hire comes after the firm appointed two former Wells Fargo/Wachovia senior executives and philanthropy specialists to its management lineup last December.

Carol Yonack and Tony Rodriguez joined as regional managing directors to the national business development team, also reporting to McGlaughon. The duo had also worked before with McGlaughon, who before taking up the role of chief philanthropic officer at Wells Fargo Philanthropic Services was managing executive for the nonprofit and philanthropic services unit of Wachovia.

Yonack is based in Dallas, TX where she oversees the company's outreach initiatives to philanthropists in the state and the professionals working with them. Rodriguez is based in Bonita Springs, FL where he leads the firm's outreach programs. Both previously served as regional philanthropic consultants and SVPs at Wells.
