Gottex Names Marketing Head For Asia-Pacific Region

Gottex Fund Management, an international firm incorporated in Guernsey, has appointed Marc Fisher as head of marketing for the Asia-Pacific region, based in its Hong Kong office. He takes up the role immediately.
The new man has a wide commercial network within Asia, particularly in Hong Kong, as well as China, Japan, Singapore and the Middle East, the firm said.
Fisher latterly worked at London-based Financial Risk Management as head of marketing for the Asia-Pacific business (excluding Japan and Korea) and was relocated to its office in Hong Kong late 2010. Before working at FRM, Fisher was a managing director at Citigroup, where he was global head of fund of hedge fund sales and marketing, helping to set up the bank’s fund derivatives marketing division.
In his new role, Fisher will work with Max Gottschalk, chief executive of Gottex Asia and Ronnie Wu, chief information officer at Gottex Asia.
The appointment follows Gottex’s acquisition earlier this year of Penjing Asset Management. In total, Gottex had $7.6 billion of fee-earning assets at 30 September.
“Marc Fisher’s appointment highlights our strong commitment to the Asian region and will enable us to benefit from the accelerating growth in this market. We believe his expertise and vision will be crucial in delivering the services and quality our clients expect and demand,” Gottschalk said.
Earlier this year, Gottex Fund Management said it had returned to profitability in 2011, with an operating profit of $700,000 in 2011 after a $5 million loss in 2010.
