ICICI Upgrades Banking Licence In Qatar

ICICI Bank, the Indian bank, has been awarded a Category I licence by the Qatar Financial Centre Regulatory Authority for its QFC branch in Doha.
The branch has been operating as a Category IV entity since 21 March 2007, which allows it to deal with investment activities for private banking clients. With an upgraded licence, it can start accepting deposits from and provide credit to business clients. The bank can also start engaging in treasury and foreign exchange-related activities.
ICICI Bank has a presence in 18 countries.
