The UK’s best selling funds through the Fidelity FundsNetwork platform (all channels and all product wrappers) in April included plenty of income funds, according to a release from the company.

The list, of course, includes April ISAs, several of which were the same as the overall best sellers - Invesco Perpetual High Income Fund, BlackRock UK Absolute Alpha Fund, Jupiter Merlin Income Portfolio, JPM Natural Resources Fund, Invesco Perpetual Monthly Income Plus Fund, Invesco Perpetual Income Fund and Fidelity Cash Fund.

The M&G Recovery Fund at number nine indicated a residual willingness to accept risk.

The best selling sector through Fidelity FundsNetwork in April was Specialist, up 40 per cent on March, way ahead of the field: UK Equity Income and UK All Companies up 27 per cent, Cautious Managed up 11 per cent, for example. 

One had to look east to find the best sector returns in April according to Morningstar:  top was Asia Pacific ex Japan up 8.31 per cent, then Japan up 7.61 per cent and Global Emerging Markets up 7.34 per cent.
