Industrial Bank Of Korea Goes Live With Calypso

The Industrial Bank of Korea, the state-owned bank whose offerings include wealth management services, has gone live with the Calypso system to support its front office functions.

The system will be used to develop the bank’s commodities and credit trading businesses and to automate its processes on the FX derivatives desk, aiming to enhance client product offering, Calpyso said in a statement.

Features of Calypso’s front office system include: pricing and trade capture functions; the Calypso Workstation for trading, cash positions, P&L modeling and simulation; desk level market risk functionality, which incorporates historical VaR and stress testing scenarios.

Calypso believes the project is proof of the firm’s “commitment to the East Asian markets” and the ability “to provide services and local support,” according to Charles Marston, chief executive and chairman of Calypso Technology.
