Janus Capital Launches Emerging Markets Fund

Janus Capital International, the London-based international arm of Denver-headquartered Janus Capital Group, has launched an emerging markets fund, part of its Dublin-domiciled Janus Capital Funds range.

The fund invests in emerging market equities and is based on Janus’s bottom-up fundamental stock picking approach.

The vehicle invests in quality growth companies that are seen as trading at deep discounts to their intrinsic value and utilises Janus’s global sector equity analysts to create a diversified portfolio, the firm said. The fund will be co-managed by Wahid Chammas and Matt Hochstetler, and both will work closely with Janus’s risk management resources to actively monitor macro-level risk factors such as country, sector and currency positions.

The investment objective is long-term growth of capital. The portfolio has between approximately 80-140 stocks invested on a diversified basis across sectors and regions and uses the MSCI Emerging Markets Index as its benchmark.

Janus Capital Group also has offices in Milan, Munich, Tokyo, Hong Kong, Singapore and Melbourne.
