Leopard Capital Names New Cambodia CIO

Leopard Capital, the Cayman Islands-based investment management firm, has announced a new head for its Cambodia business.

Richard Intrator joins the firm as managing partner and chief investment officer. Intrator, a certified public accountant, was previously the executive in residence at Stamford International University in Thailand and has held senior roles with IMAX, Petry Media, PaineWebber and Booz, Allen & Hamilton.

He assumes the CIO position after Scott Lewis, who resigned to become head of corporate finance at Oryx Petroleum in Geneva, Switzerland. Lewis remains a consultant partner at Leopard Capital.

He steps in as the Leopard Cambodia Fund moves into its portfolio management phase, the firm said in a statement. The US$34 million fund was launched in 2008 and has since made 14 investments in various sectors, including banking, microfinance and telecommunications.

Leopard Capital has offices in Hong Kong, Cambodia, Laos and Haiti, and is establishing a presence in Myanmar and Bangladesh.
