Morgan Stanley expects to hire 50 or more people in Charlotte for its expanding private banking operations, a spokesperson told the Charlotte Observer.

The private banking operation currently has about 35 people in North Carolina’s largest city, James Wiggins said. Most of the hiring will take place later in the year as Morgan Stanley builds out the new service in phases, he said.

Overall, the firm plans to hire about 150 private banking personnel.
