A new firm - Hopkins Investment Management - has been founded in the US state of Maryland by Rob Spanjaard, a fund manager, and investment advisor Martin Hopkins.

Based in Annapolis, the state capital, Hopkins Investment Management offers fee-only financial planning and investment management services to clients in the mid-Atlantic region, including Washington DC, New Jersey, Virginia and Maryland.

Mr Hopkins previously ran investment advisory firm ML Hopkins & Co, while Mr Spanjaard managed the South Africa-based Rezco Fund since its inception in 2004.

“Martin and I believe that adding a solid understanding of emerging markets to our detailed knowledge of local markets will give our clients the edge in the years to come,” said Mr Spanjaard.
