Private Equity Firm Strengthens New York Office

AlpInvest Partners, the global private equity manager which is part of the Carlye Group, has bolstered its investment solutions team in New York with the addition of Nadim Barakat as a managing partner.

Prior to joining AlpInvest, Barakat was a managing director and chief investment officer at Credit Suisse's customized fund investment group. Prior to that, he was a founding member of the NBK Capital private equity effort and in the mergers and acquisitions department at JP Morgan Chase.

Barakat joins Tjarko Hektor and Elliot Royce, who are also managing partners in New York.

As of end-June, AlpInvest Partners has over $44 billion in assets under management. It manages the private equity investments for several large US and Dutch pension funds, among other institutional investors, with additional offices in Amsterdam and Hong Kong.
