Promotions At Offshore Law Firm In London, Guernsey

Carey Olsen, the Channel Island law firm, has promoted Oliver Quarmby and John Le Tissier to be senior associates in its London office and Guernsey property team respectively.

Quarmby was previously an associate within the Guernsey corporate and finance group, while Le Tissier has been a member of the firm’s property team for 30 years, according to a statement.

In London, Quarmby will work with the corporate and finance team to “further promote” the firm’s multi-jurisdictional corporate finance and funds offering. He is a specialist funds lawyer, with experience in advising clients on numerous corporate matters, including equity fundraisings, flotation, hedge funds and closed-end investment funds.

Le Tissier has “considerable expertise” in dealing with all types of Guernsey property matters, with a focus on complex commercial property transactions, the firm said.

Based in Jersey, Guernsey and London, Carey Olsen assists institutional clients in large multi-jurisdictional transactions across the Channel Islands. It also provides legal services for governments, corporates, professional firms and high net worth individuals.

However, last month the firm said it was extending its reach to the Cayman Islands and the British Virgin Islands, offering legal advice in the Cayman Islands through a team including partners Jason Allison, Nick Bullmore and Jarrod Farley.

A formal launch of the office in the Caymans and the announcement of newly-built premises will take place in September this year.
