Glyn Jones, chief executive of Thames River Capital, has resigned after a seven month review of the company. Charlie Porter, co-founder of the business and currently president, will resume the chief executive role. During the course of the review it was decided that the organisation’s strategic objectives were best served by remaining private rather than considering a listing to preserve what it sees as its unique culture and part of its success. The strategic review will also lead to the launch of a number of new funds from within the existing investment teams and establishment of a UK equities team. “We have concluded unanimously that Thames River is a fundamentally sound business that does not need radical change. Whilst there are a number of areas where we can continue to enhance the services and investment solutions we provide to our clients, it is critical that this be done by building upon the culture that has made Thames River so successful in the first place,” said Mr Jones in a statement.
