London-headquartered Tilney Bestinvest has expanded its national financial planning team with the appointment of Cathy Geary.

UK-based financial planning and investment advisory group Tilney Bestinvest has hired Cathy Geary as associate director, financial planning.

Geary joins from Arthur J Gallagher, an insurance brokerage and risk management services firm, where she advised self-managed pension clients and high net worth individuals. She takes on the newly created role within the Northampton-based financial planning team, reporting to the firm's director of financial planning, Neil Watson.

Geary, a chartered financial planner and fellow of the Personal Finance Society, brings almost 30 years' experience in the financial services sector to the role. Her addition brings Tilney Bestinvest's team of financial planning consultants serving the Midlands to four.

“The imminent changes to pensions in particular mean that the demand has never been greater for those seeking quality advice on their personal finances,” Tilney Bestinvest's managing director of financial planning, Richard Dawes, said in a statement.
