Trust Builders names 1st new president in 25 years

Dressel takes over as head of the firm formerly known as the Annuity People. Portland, Ore.-based Trust Builders, a provider of software and training to broker-dealers, registered investment advisers and stock brokers, has named Edward Dressel as its president.

Trust Builders started out about 25 years ago a retirement investment consultancy for public employees called the Annuity People. The company changed track when its TRAK retirement-illustration software became a popular tool in the financial-service industry and changed its name Trust Builders in July 2006.

Dressel, who has been with Trust Builders since 1990, takes over from Mike Forrer, who founded the company in 1982. Forrer will maintain an affiliation with Trust Builders as a consultant. Forrer is also setting up his own 403(b) and 401(k) marketing and sales-consulting business.

"We will continue to energetically update TRAK so that our advisers will always be prepared for the evolving needs of their clients and the volatile realities of the marketplace," says Dressel. -FWR
