UBS France Launches New Private Investment Firm

The new firm will begin its operations with around $4.7 billion in assets under management.
UBS France, the
French wealth management arm of UBS, and La Maison, an investment
firm founded by Michel Cicurel and Marc Levy, have launched
UBS La
Maison de Gestion, a high-end private investment management
entity. The new entity is registered at 4, Saint Thomas d’Aquin,
Paris 75007.
The launch of the new firm follows UBS France’s 100 per cent
buyout of Banque Leonardo, which was approved in July. The new
firm is the combination of the investment management subsidiaries
of UBS in France and Banque Leonardo France, and the
investment firm La Maison, UBS said in a statement.
UBS La Maison de Gestion offers family office, discretionary
financial management and private equity investment services to
UBS France clients, including those inherited from the buyout of
Banque Leonardo France.
The new firm is headed by Lévy as chairman of the management
board. Cicurel is chairman of the supervisory board and
Jean-Frédéric de Leusse is vice-chairman.
Jerome Orbey, deputy general manager of UBS La Maison de Gestion,
will be responsible for the investment management teams and will
be in charge of rolling out the investment policies. Orbey
was deputy general manager of Banque Leonardo France.
The team of private investment managers is made up of 18
professionals, while the fund management team comprises of eight
UCITS fund managers.
“This is a major step forward in the development of UBS in
France,” said Emmanuel d'Orsay, head of private investment
management at UBS France. “We now offer our clients a
comprehensive range of investment advisory and financial
management services. This new offering fits in with the bespoke
support we provide for our clients in the management of both
their personal and professional assets. By maintaining a size
that allows us to offer a personal touch, we can give a face to
each area of expertise and maintain a very close relationship
with our clients.”
