UBS Hires New CIO

UBS Global Asset Management has hired Gregor Hirt as chief investment officer in its global investment solution department.

Global Asset Management has hired Gregor Hirt as chief
investment officer in its global investment solution
department.
He will be responsible for managing global balanced strategies
and contributing to asset allocation strategy in Switzerland and
Europe. He joins from Schroders where he was head of multi-asset
Europe for seven years.
He previously worked at Credit Suisse for nine years in portfolio
management and research roles. Based in Zurich he will report to
Andreas Koester, head of asset allocation & currency.
“Gregor brings significant experience in multi-asset investing
which will be a great benefit to our clients. He will join our
asset allocation committee as a voting member and his expertise
will contribute to setting strategy across our global investment
solutions area. We are delighted to welcome him to the firm,”
said Koester.
Also last week UBS appointed Amy Lo as chief executive of wealth
management for Hong Kong, taking over from Allen Lo, who is
retiring from the post. UBS in Asia has expanded its headcount of
client managers by around 8 per cent since the start of this
year, the firm has said recently.
