UK Fund Manager Launches Global Extended Alpha Fund

UK-based Threadneedle has expanded its Extended Alpha range with the launch of its Global Extended Alpha fund, to be managed by global equities fund manager Andrew Holliman.  The fund is now registered in the UK and currently undergoing registration in other countries.

The addition to the range of 130/30-style strategies is an extension of the Threadneedle higher alpha, long-only capability characterised by a fundamental, stock-picking approach.

The new fund broadens the array of opportunities, as it will be able to take both long and short positions in the world stock market.

Mr Holliman said: “We believe we can deploy capital globally more actively than regional managers who are constrained to manage their risk in relation to a local benchmark and consistently generate alpha for our investors.”

The fund’s benchmark is the MSCI All Countries World index.
