Distribution Technology, a risk profiling and wealth management technology firm, is building a new investment research service for intermediaries, teaming up with City Financial, the independent investment house.  

The service, which is embedded Distribution Technology’s Dynamic Planner ® system, offers qualitative investment research that also drives The Adviser Centre (soon to be launched by City Financial, see here). Future plans also include the creation of risk-profiled portfolios by City Financial using DT’s asset allocation guidance.

Such an arrangement is the kind of business move firms are making as they seek to serve clients more rapidly and cheaply against a background of rising regulatory costs in the UK and customer expectations, particularly at a time when modern technology is disrupting older business models and encouraging more "DIY" investment by clients.
