UK-Based F&C Creates New Roles To Serve Private Wealth, Institutional Clients

The London-listed firm has created two new positions for wholesale operations dedicated to financial institutions and private clients.

F&C Investments, the UK-listed firm, has created two new head of wholesale roles, dedicated to financial institutions and private wealth clients.

John Bennett has been hired as head of wholesale institutions and will lead the firm’s UK sales for fund of funds, banks and fund buyers at financial institutions. He joins from RWC Partners and will work alongside Martin Weisinger, who has been appointed head of wholesale for private wealth. Weisinger has been a member of F&C’s wholesale distribution team for 11 years. Both men will report to Rob Thorpe, head of consumer business at the firm.

“The UK wholesale market is evolving rapidly. Clients within this market have very different needs and they cannot be viewed as a holistic group. We have considered our sales and marketing approach carefully and by creating these new roles are confident that we will be even better placed to serve our wholesale clients,” Thorpe said in a statement.

Earlier this year F&C announced the re-organisation and expansion of its retail distribution team, with the team now divided into two dedicated functions, one focusing on nationals, networks, life companies and platforms, and the other taking a regional approach. This followed the appointment of Thorpe to his current post last November.
