Wave Of New Appointments Made At Schroders' London Office

Schroders has announced a series of appointments across its London offerings, from equities to fixed income credit research.

Schroders has announced new appointments in London, ranging from equities to fixed income credit research.

Peter Harrison has landed the newly-created position of head of investment where he will lead the overall investment activities at Schroders. He leaves behind his position of global head of equities at the firm.

Taking over this role is Nicky Richards who previously worked at Schroders from 1987 to 2003. She leaves her post as chief executive and CIO at MLC Investment Management in Australia to join Schroders. She will start later this month, subject to regulatory approval.

Schroders also made a double appointment in its UK & European equity team; both Henrik Nyblom and Roger Doig join as senior research analysts. With these newly created roles, Schroders hopes to “strengthen its analytical capabilities”, it said in a statement.

Latterly of Nomura, Nyblom will cover pan-European telecoms and media. The firm hopes his sell-side experience will provide a better view into the corporate and regulatory landscape of the telecom industry.

Doig moves within the firm itself; prior to this appointment he worked in Schroders’ credit research team. In his new position he will focus on pan-European insurance and diversified financials.

His move into equities comes as the firm aims to strengthen the links between its equities and fixed income teams. Before joining the firm in 2007 he worked as an equity analyst covering the pan-European insurance sector.

Rounding off the hires is Robert Kendrick who joins Schroders’ fixed income credit research team. A analyst by trade, he moved from Legal and General Investment Management where he served as a senior credit analyst covering global banks and insurance companies. He takes over Doig’s position of credit analyst.

Another appointment at Schroders came last week; Alex Tedder was named head of global equities at the firm’s New York office (see more here).
