Quebec-based National Bank of Canada, the country’s sixth largest bank, has reported record results on the back of improving profits from wealth management and higher investment banking earnings. National Bank's wealth management net income increased to C$143 million, up 29 per cent compared to last year. National's overall annual net income for 2006 was up C$16 million from the previous year to C$871 million.
