Principal
Asset Management has appointed Richard Hill as global head of
real estate research and strategy. Hill (pictured) will be
working with portfolio teams on capital allocation strategies
developed through a relative value framework. He will also lead
the real estate global research team with responsibility for
delivering the house economic and real estate views to clients.
Hill has 24 years of industry experience, most recently serving as head of real estate strategy and research at Cohen & Steers Capital Management. Prior to this role, Hill was head of commercial real rstate Research at Morgan Stanley where he was responsible for REIT equity research, CRE debt strategy and macro property research. Hill received his bachelor of science in business administration from Georgetown University, Washington DC.
Throughout his career, he has led real estate investment strategy and portfolio management, advising global institutional clients, developing proprietary valuation models, optimising asset allocation, and driving thought leadership on market trends and innovation, the firm said in a statement.

CISI
The
Chartered Institute for Securities & Investment has
appointed Oliver Bourke CFP™ Chartered FCSI (Financial
Planning) as the new chair of CISI’s Accredited Financial
Planning Firm™ steering committee. Bourke is taking over from Ian
Pickford CFP™ Chartered FCSI who is stepping down as AFPF
committee chair after three years.
Bourke is a Certified Financial Planner™, a Chartered Fellow of the CISI and is managing director at Mercury Wealth Management. He has been on the CISI AFPF committee for 18 months.
“I am delighted to leave the work of the committee in Oliver’s capable hands. His passion for financial planning and future thinking around the impact and use of technology will be invaluable in keeping accredited firms at the forefront of the profession,” Pickford said.

Quilter Cheviot Europe
Quilter
Cheviot Europe (QCE), a European subsidiary of UK wealth
manager Quilter Cheviot, has appointed Morgan Whelan as a
relationship and investment manager..
Whelan most recently served as manager for the Limerick branch of Bank of Ireland. He brings extensive experience in wealth management, financial planning, and client relations, which will be instrumental in supporting the growth of QCE’s footprint presence in Ireland.
“His deep understanding of the Irish financial landscape, combined with his expertise in client engagement and investment solutions, makes him a valuable addition to our team,” Andrew Fahy, chief executive of Quilter Cheviot Europe, said. “Morgan’s appointment supports our strategy of expanding our regional presence in Ireland and ensuring we continue to provide exceptional service to clients and intermediaries across the country.”
This appointment follows the recent hire of a new head of distribution for Ireland.
