Sarasin & Partners
Sarasin
& Partners – the global thematic investment manager which
invests £18.2 billion ($22.9 billion) on behalf of charities,
clients, intermediaries, and institutions – has added two senior
investment professionals to its team.
Multi-asset fund manager Alastair Baker has moved to Sarasin & Partners to work with Guy Monson, chief market strategist and senior partner, on the management of Sarasin’s Target Return strategies. Baker has 14 years’ investment experience in building and managing multi-asset investment solutions. He spent the first 13 years of his career at Schroders working with a range of global pension funds, insurance companies and institutions. Most recently he was at abrdn, where he undertook a comprehensive review of their multi-asset investment capability.
Additionally, Cédric Phounpadith has joined the asset management team as head of investment risk. Phounpadith, who has 13 years of risk management experience across all asset classes, was previously in Paris with HSBC Global Asset Management, working on multi-asset quantitative solutions. He was also responsible for the risk management of fixed income portfolios at Standard Life Investments. Most recently, Phounpadith was at Vanguard, where he focused on equity index and multi-asset strategies.

BCB Group
BCB Group, a
provider of business accounts and trading services for the
digital asset economy, has appointed Jerome Prigent as managing
director of BCB Europe.
Prigent (pictured) will be responsible for leading and managing the business development for Europe and executing the strategy for BCB Group’s expansion into the region. This key appointment follows BCB Group’s aim to seek authorisation by the ACPR and the AMF respectively to act as an e-money institution and digital assets services provider in France.
Prigent’s previous roles include cash director at GM France, where he was instrumental in building, executing, and delivering country-specific business development plans. He has also held key positions in directorships at Orwell Group, Ferratum Group, GE Capital, Isodev, DeCA Propreté and BNP Paribas.
“He [Pringent] will be working closely with the executive team here to define the organisational and team requirements for BCB Group’s French entities, and interacting with the ACPR to secure maintenance of compliance standards for the French regulated entities and all related licensing and regulatory matters. He’s a great addition to the team,” Oliver Tonkin, CEO of BCB Group, said.
Hampden & Co
UK private bank Hampden & Co has
appointed Claire Mann to the new role of head of client
proposition.
Mann will lead the bank’s client relationship management (CRM) programme to continue the firm’s commitment to providing exceptional client service and fostering deep, long-term relationships. She will report to Andrew Bell, chief commercial officer at the bank, the firm said in a statement.
Mann was previously the senior operations and programme manager at Handelsbanken responsible for the design, implementation and management of CRM. She has also served in senior operational and CRM roles at NatWest, KPMG and HSBC.
In line with growing client demand, Hampden & Co has continued to add to its banking, senior management and support teams throughout 2023. This includes Mark Plummer, who joined as head of private banking in London, and John Glanville and Patrick Preece, who joined as a banking directors.
