Who’s Moving Where In Wealth Management? – Stonehage Fleming, Constantine Law, Others

The latest moves and appointments in wealth management in the UK, the rest of Europe, the Middle East and other select locations.

Stonehage Fleming    
Stonehage Fleming, an international multi-family offices, has appointed Carol Mote as global head of human resources and a member of the group executive committee.

Starting immediately, Mote will be based in London reporting directly to Chris Merry, group CEO, the firm said in a statement. 

She first joined Stonehage Fleming as interim global head of human resources in July 2022. 

Prior to joining the firm, Mote was a managing director and senior director for professional services' companies KPMG and Deloitte. She has also served in global roles with JPMorgan, LSEG, Unilever and Centrica. 

Constantine Law
Constantine Law, an employment and regulatory specialist law firm, has appointed Emmeline Coerkamp. 

The appointment takes Constantine Law to a headcount of 10 partners and 15 fee earning staff with an all-female team of five senior lawyers within the firm’s regulatory and criminal investigations practice.

Coerkamp is an experienced criminal litigation lawyer, who brings expertise across a range of white-collar crime for clients facing criminal investigations and prosecution, the firm said in a statement.

She is joining from PCB Byrne, a boutique fraud litigation firm in London where she worked for 12 years. 

Previously, Coerkamp was at Irwin Mitchell where she worked with John Hayes and Sarah Wallace before the setup of Constantine Law in 2015.

Her appointment follows the arrival of senior regulatory partner Nicola O’Connor who joined from Bird and Bird in September.  Both lawyers have joined the regulatory and criminal investigations team led by Sarah Wallace, along with regulatory and corporate crime partners Emma Vernon and Jemma Sherwood-Roberts, who both joined in 2021.
 
Evelyn Partners
Evelyn Partners, a UK wealth management and professional services group, has appointed David Rankin as the new managing partner of its Edinburgh and Aberdeen offices.
 
He has more than 30 years’ wealth management experience and is joining Evelyn Partners from Investec’s Edinburgh office where he was senior wealth planning director, the firm said in a statement.  

For the last decade, Rankin has been specialising in assisting clients with advice following a business sale, helping them protect or grow their family wealth and using family investment companies. He works with lawyers, accountants and financial advisers to manage pension funds, trusts and corporate funds.   

The news of Rankin's appointment comes on the back of three experienced practitioners joining the Edinburgh team and confirms Evelyn Partner’s ongoing commitment and growth ambitions in Scotland, the firm continued. 

Neil Grant is joining as an associate director from Acumen Financial Planning and Leanne Cassidy, previously from Schroders Personal Wealth, has also been appointed as an associate director in the Edinburgh financial planning team. Lisa Mcleod has become an associate director in the Edinburgh investment management team, joining from Redmayne Bentley. She will split her time between the Edinburgh and Aberdeen offices, the firm said.   

Evelyn Partners has deep roots in Scotland dating back to 1881, with over 400 staff based in offices in Aberdeen, Edinburgh and Glasgow. 

Allspring Global Investments
Allspring Global Investments, an asset manager, announced this week that Tom de Lisle has joined the company as sales director for the UK financial institutions team. 

Reporting to Charlie Wilson, he leads Allspring's sales activities with wealth managers, discretionary investment managers and private banks in the UK and is based in the London office, the firm said in a statement.

Before joining the firm, de Lisle was the London sales director at River and Mercantile Asset Management. Prior to that, he was head of family office business development, and earlier he served as a sales manager at Neptune Investment Management. 

De Lisle began his investment industry career in 2004 at Arjent Stockbrokers, where he advised UK private clients on US equities, the firm continued. 

Belasko
Belasko, a Guernsey-based fund, private wealth and corporate services business, strengthened its senior leadership team this week with the appointment of Edward Green as CEO. 

Current CEO, Paul Lawrence, will transition to the newly-created position of group managing director, the firm said in a statement.  

Green has 19 years of experience within private equity, private credit and real estate and most recently as partner and head of asset management at AnaCap Financial Partners. He will now take responsibility for driving the next phase of Belasko’s growth as a digitally-enabled administration platform, the firm continued. 

Moving forward, Green will be based in London and divide his time across Belasko’s extensive operations in the four jurisdictions of Guernsey, Jersey, the UK and Luxembourg.

GPCA
The Global Private Capital Association has appointed four new board directors:

-- Rohit Sipahimalani, chief investment officer at Temasek;
-- Craig Thorburn, director at the Office of the Chief Investment Officer of Future Fund;
-- Frank Su, managing director, head of private equity Asia at CPP Investments; and 
-- Jose Sosa del Valle, partner at Lexington Partners.
