Schroders Reshuffles UK Leadership Team
The company has confirmed the departure of a member of its UK leadership team as its Japan head returns to London.
Schroders has appointed Guy Henriques as country head for the UK business, as Robin Stoakley steps down as managing director of UK intermediary.
Stoakley, who has been with the company for 27 years, will maintain a senior role within the firm overseeing relationships with global financial clients and helping to develop its South African presence. He will report to John Troiano, global head of distribution.
Taking over management of the UK intermediary business will be James Rainbow, Schroders’ head of UK financial institutions and strategic accounts, and Phil Middleton, head of UK intermediary business development. They will become co-heads, reporting to Henriques.
Henriques will return to London this month from Japan, where he was Schroders’ country head since 2012. Having joined the company a decade ago, he has also served as global head of official institutions in London and then in Hong Kong.
In addition to taking responsibility for the UK intermediary and institutional channels, Henriques will also lead the Latin America business across Argentina, Brazil, Chile and Mexico.
“The changing dynamics of the UK market place and continued convergence of both the intermediary and institutional channels, specifically in the defined contribution and insurance areas, has meant that now is the right time for our business to appoint a country head for the UK that will lead and grow both channels. Guy’s experience and tenure at Schroders makes him the right person for the job,” said Troiano.
“Robin has built and led our successful and highly-regarded UK intermediary business for the last 15 years. He now hands it on to James Rainbow and Philip Middleton whose tenure and experience with the firm means they are well placed to lead this business.”
