Who's Moving Where In Wealth Management? - Aberdeen Standard Investments

The latest senior moves in wealth management from across Europe and the UK.

Aberdeen Standard Investments, the parent of which recently announced top-level management changes, has appointed John Bennett as a new addition to its UK distribution division.

Based in London, Bennet will support ASI’s investment sales team in bringing the firm’s range of investment strategies to its clients in UK wholesale. He will report to Kristy Barr, UK distribution director and will work closely with the existing UK sales team to build on ASI’s strong client base and growth opportunities across the country.

Bennett has spent the last six years at BMO Global Asset Management, most recently as head of financial institutions group. Prior to that he worked for four years at RWC Partners as head of retail distribution and previously, 14 years with JP Morgan where he was latterly the head of UK international sales.

ASI is part of Standard Life Abereen, the Scotland-based financial services group. At the start of July, it announced that group chief executive Keith Skeoch was standing down from its board after a five-year stint that included UK-listed Standard Life’s purchase of Aberdeen in 2017, one of the major M&A deals in the UK asset management space. He was succeeded by former Citigroup C-suite figure Stephen Bird.
