Who's Moving Where In Wealth Management? - Waverton Investment Management, Royds Withy King, Other

The latest moves in senior wealth and asset management from across Europe and the UK.

Waverton Investment Management
Waverton Investment Management has hired Andrew Denham-Davis as a business development manager in the advisor solutions team. The former Brooks MacDonald manager will report to Waverton’s director and head of intermediary sales, Mark Barrington.

Denham-Davis is moving from a similar role at Brooks Macdonald, where he spent 15 years, most recently leading a 35-strong sales team. Barrington commented: “Andrew was instrumental in setting up the DFM alliance while at Brooks Macdonald and spearheaded their growth of funds under management.”

Denham-Davis added: “I have watched their progress carefully over the last few years – their investment-led approach has culminated in the MPS being available on 20 platforms – few, if any, solutions will have that accessibility.”

Royds Withy King
Senior associate in family law Natalie Lemonides has joined Royds Withy King in London. She was previously based at West End law firm Child & Child and specialises in family relationship issues, with a particular focus on resolving complex financial issues for high net worth individuals. The majority of her work has an international element involving substantial assets in multiple jurisdictions.

HSBC
HSBC Global Asset Management has appointed Stuart Kirk as global head of research and insights.

Kirk will report to global chief investment officer Joanna Munro. He will lead a newly-created research and insights team, whose aim is to provide the firm’s retail and institutional clients with investment content, and promote its extensive research and analysis.

As part of his role, Kirk will lead a new initiative called AlphaLabs, which brings together the firm’s analysts, data and behavioural scientists, quantitative teams as well as external academics and researchers in order to apply the latest developments in investment approaches, techniques and technologies to client portfolios.

Kirk previously ran the Research Institute at DWS having moved to the buy-side from Deutsche Bank, where he was global head of multi-asset and thematic research. Prior to that, he was editor of the Financial Times’ Lex Column. He also worked in the asset management practice of Oliver Wyman, a consultancy, and before that spent eight years as a global equity portfolio manager at Deutsche Morgan Grenfell.
