In taking up the role, the Asia CIO will be based in Hong Kong.
Pictet Wealth
Management has appointed Alexandre Tavazzi as Asia chief
investment officer. Until now, he has been global strategist and
head of CIO Office for the firm.
He begins in the new role from 8 November, based in Hong Kong.
Tavazzi will retain his existing duies and continue to report to
Cesar Perez Ruiz, head of investments and CIO, and locally to
Evelyn Yeo in the additional role.
Tavazzi has worked at the Geneva-based group for 24 years. His
connection with Asia goes back more than two decades, having
started his career covering Asian markets. He joined Pictet & Cie
in 1997 as a senior equity analyst covering the Japanese market
and co-managing the bank's Japanese equity fund.
After heading Pictet's buy side research, Tavazzi brought the
advisory products and research team to maturity before returning
to co-head portfolio management and equity research. In 2017 he
was appointed global strategist, heading the CIO Office of the
wealth management investment platform. Prior to joining Pictet,
he worked at Wako Finance, Lehman Brothers and spent three years
with Ferrier Lullin as a senior equity analyst and fund manager
on the Japanese market.
In August Pictet said its wholly foreign-owned enterprise (WFOE)
in Shanghai had registered as a Qualified Domestic Limited
Partner (QDLP) manager with the Asset Management Association of
China.
