Pictet Changes Partner Line-up

De Planta is to step down from his role as senior partner and hand over to a family member of the private bank.
Pictet this week announced that senior partner Renaud de Planta,
will step down from the board of partners from 30 June
2024.
De Planta, who turns 60 this year, joined the
Geneva-headquartered private bank in 1998 as managing partner and
became its senior partner in 2019. His tenure has seen him direct
a firm through the turmoil of the 2008 financial crisis and the
2020 pandemic.
As part of the change, de Planta will join the supervisory board
of the group and the board of directors of Banque Pictet & Cie
SA, effective 1 January 2025, pending regulatory approval.
“I am looking forward to this next step, which will keep me close
to Pictet and allow me to give more time to my philanthropic
activities. Looking ahead - also beyond June of next year - I am
very confident about the future of Pictet. Our firm is very well
positioned as a quality player,” de Planta said.
Marc Pictet, a family member of the bank, will take over from de
Planta as senior partner on 1 July 2024. Marc Pictet joined
Pictet in 2001 and has been a managing partner of the group since
2011. He co-heads Pictet Wealth Management and oversees the
corporate office, the department that handles the strategic
projects of the Group. He is also chairman of the supervisory
board of Bank Pictet & Cie (Europe) AG. Previously Marc Pictet
led Pictet Asset Services and Technology and Operations, among
other responsibilities.
The bank, which was founded in 1805, marks its 219th anniversary
next July.
