The McCombie Group has published a white paper which the firm says sets out how family offices can apply corporate strategy to their investments and beat institutional funds on their own ground.

“Ultimately, if the family’s resources and capabilities provide a comparative advantage in finding targets at more attractive entry prices or better growing or operating those businesses, they should pursue these investments directly,” says David McCombie, president and founder of the advisory firm that bears his name. “Otherwise, they would be better served in investing via a traditional fund vehicle.”
