Major Financial Services Group Adds Risk Products

UK-headquartered Sesame Bankhall Group has added new risk products to its restricted advice proposition. Now, advisors can offer corporate customers group life, group critical illness and group income protection products from the three providers Aviva, Friends Life and Zurich.

The firm launched its restricted advice proposition last year. It provides access to products from financial services brands such as Aegon, Aviva, Bright Grey, Friends Life, LV=, Partnership, Prudential, PruHealth, PruProtect, Scottish Life and Zurich.

SBG chief executive officer, George Higginson, said the move would meet recent advisor demands for a broader offering to customers.

“Group risk is an opportunity to build on the existing relationships that many advisors have with corporate customers. This is particularly important given auto-enrolment and the additional revenue streams that this promises to create for advisors through referrals, as customers reach their respective staging dates,” said Higginson.

Earlier this year, the network support service for financial advisors said that it had nearly doubled its trading profits to £4.1 million (about $6 million) in 2012 from £2.2 million in 2011.
