AXA IM Relocates London Exec To HK To Lead Equities Arm

AXA Investment Managers, the asset management arm of the AXA Group, has relocated one of its London executives to spearhead its growth efforts in Asia.

Mark Tinker moves from London to Hong Kong as head of AXA Framlington Asia, the firm's equity specialist unit that manages some $65 billion of assets as of June 2013. Tinker joined AXA Framlington in November 2006 and managed the division's global opportunities fund from September 2007 to August 2013. Before that, he was a global strategist at Execution Limited and head of equity and debt strategy at Commerzbank.

With this appointment, AXA IM says it intends to boost its value proposition to Asian clients. The company has been operating in Asia since 1998 and has offices in Hong Kong, Beijing, Singapore, Sydney and Tokyo. It also has joint ventures in Shanghai, Seoul and Mumbai.

Tinker will be responsible for the day-to-day management of the Asian judgemental equity capabilities and will also support the company's expansion in Asia.
