Bank J Safra Sarasin Widens Sustainable Investment Offering

Bank J Safra Sarasin has bolstered its sustainable investment capabilities with a top hire, emphasising its commitment to this field.

Bank J Safra Sarasin, the private banking entity created by Bank Sarasin and Bank J Safra in Asia, has strengthened its sustainable investment capabilities, appointing an investment head.

Pierin Menzli leads the sustainable investment research team effective 1 November 2013. He will be joined by Philipp Mettler as sustainable investment analyst.

Menzli is a co-founder of Contrast Capital and former head of research at SAM Sustainable Asset Management. Mettler was previously the head of research at ALNUA Investment Managers and senior equity analyst at SAM.

Along with the appointments, the bank also said that it has entered into a long-term mandate with Contrast Capital, which specialises in advising clients on sustainable investments.

Bank J Safra Sarasin has been developing sustainable investments for institutional and private clients for the past 20 years. A company is sustainably-managed if the production of its goods and services meets broad social acceptance (environmental, social and governance) and uses production methods with a low potential for conflict.
