Calastone, the global fund transaction network, has appointed Edward Glyn as managing director and head of global client relationship management.

Glyn, with more than 15 years’ experience in fund distribution, securities servicing and wealth management with particular expertise in distribution dynamics, market infrastructure and fund platform sectors, joins Calastone from SWIFT where he spent nine years in a variety of roles. Most recently, Glyn headed up SWIFT’s funds business across EMEA, and the regional team managing SWIFT’s investment management, custody and asset servicing offerings.

Prior to joining SWIFT, Glyn spent a number of years in commercial and strategic roles at Investia, former parent of JPMorgan, FundsHub, ERI Bancaire, Thomson Financial and LVMH. He joined SWIFT in 2005 to pioneer its UK funds business.

Reporting to Calastone’s chairman and chief executive Julien Hammerson, in his new role, Glyn will be responsible for the development and execution of Calastone’s global client strategy. He will be based in London and will take up his role by the end of the year.

In other recent developments, last month Calastone secured an $18 million investment from Accel Partners and existing investor Octopus Investments.
