Lombard Odier Trumpets Sustainability Credentials

The private bank said the certification is a measure of how far it is committed to operating and investing in a sustainable way.

Lombard Odier has received a B Corp certification from global sustainability non-profit B Lab, in recognition of its corporate sustainability practices. The Swiss bank’s certification is an example of how wealth managers are trying to win a competitive edge in the sustainability space.

To become “B Corp”, B Lab assesses a company’s environmental and social performance and governance. It measures how companies manage people, environmental footprint, products, suppliers and the communities with whom they interact.

The Geneva-based bank, which operates in a number of jurisdictions and regions including Asia, said that its new corporate headquarters, at Bellevue on Lake Geneva, will showcase its environmental credentials. That building is expected to be complete in 2022.

Patrick Odier, senior managing partner at the bank, recently wrote about the issues around sustainability here.
